The market is located in the Settefrati district, in an area once locally known as "sop all'ar," meaning "above the threshing floor," in reference to the place where grain was left to dry. Today, it represents one of the largest and most frequented daily markets in Apulia, keeping the connection with the region's commercial and popular tradition alive.
