The Bauxite Mines of Spinazzola are a natural site that preserves the memory of the area’s mining past and today represents an important place of environmental and landscape interest. The area, included in the Integral Reserve of the Alta Murgia National Park, is home to protected habitats and wildlife. Following redevelopment works, the site has been made accessible through educational trails and observation points. For safety and environmental protection reasons, visitors cannot enter the mines themselves. The experience therefore offers an opportunity to discover the mining landscape and the natural heritage surrounding it.
